bath extensions

This project on the outskirts of Bath has transformed an existing house into a functional and generous home suitable for contemporary family living.

A challenging planning context meant the design needed to be highly sympathetic and sensitive to the surroundings.  A series of visually discrete but contemporary extensions have been added, which use high quality materials that complement the existing house. The angular form of the rear extension has minimal visual impact but opens up views towards the terrace, garden, and fields beyond.

The new open-plan kitchen, dining and living area benefits from large glazed areas which provide wealth of daylight. A cantilevering window seat has been designed to allow the internal space to connect with the garden.
